You shouldn't have to hand over your phone number just to find out what something costs. That idea is the whole reason AssistQuote exists.

Every guide here answers the questions you actually have: what it costs, what changes the price, what to ask, and the catch most people learn too late. Then you decide if and when to contact anyone.

The topics are things people shop for all the time: insurance, home projects, business services and moving. The goal is simple: cut through the noise and show you what really matters for your decision.

The AssistQuote Editorial Team researches and writes the pages. Shannon James Russell, a Certified Financial Education Instructor℠ (CFEI®), former licensed insurance agent, and Mortgage Loan Originator, NMLS #1809525, reviews the insurance and home equity pages. His background in lending, insurance, and consumer finance shapes how those pages are written: understand the numbers, compare the tradeoffs, and know what you're agreeing to before you sign. Reviewing a page for accuracy is not the same as giving advice about your own loan or policy.

For roofing, moving, HVAC, and other home services, the team draws on industry data, public records, regulatory sources, and common contractor-hiring checklists. Shannon's name does not appear on those pages, because he is not a licensed tradesperson. Over time we plan to add review by licensed pros in those trades.

What you can count on in every guide

  • The answer comes first. The baseline numbers are at the top, not under a wall of filler.
  • Useful price ranges. When reliable pricing is available, we show the range and its public sources. When it isn't, we say so.
  • The fine print, pointed out. Fees, exclusions, policy limits, and contract catches are called out, not buried.
  • Plain words. Written for people making big household decisions, not industry insiders.
  • No pressure. Browsing never requires your phone number. You choose who to contact, and when.
